Kelly Moran's artworks plumb the depths of the American social psyche, dealing particularly with gender issues. Her images often mix the (intended) lighted-hearted scenes of post-war America with the actual cultural disparities they revealed. Moran says:

"I have always been attracted to the images that are contained within vintage instruction booklets, advertisements, cookbooks and first aid manuals. They show a view of our culture within a time period and context. I take them out of their intended context and give them a new life. The images are clear graphic psychological dramas and intrigue."
