AboutThe Gallery@404BIn June of 2000 I moved into a 2nd floor loft in the heart of the downtown arts and historical district of Hot Springs, Arkansas. The space had previously been the home, studio and gallery of the painter Randy Groden, who had come to Hot Springs in the early 1990s to be part of the quickly developing art scene, which was attracting artists from all over the world. Once a popular brothel, the loft is a block long and features many antique skylights. In January of 2006 I reopened part of the space as The Gallery@404-B in order to show works by several young artists who were working in Hot Springs. Our first show was a success, with three live bands and an after party that lasted past 3am. Since then the gallery has become home to artists from outside the Hot Springs movement, including Thomas Petillo (Nashville, TN), Mike Darnell (Jerusalem, Israel) and Kelly Moran (Houston, TX). ~Chuck Dodson In the photo below, Randy Groden stands in the main hall just before the first grand opening in 1992.
